This thing happens again. And I hate it.
Remember the time when forums were popular as hell? Yeah, the time I missed, because I was born too late. What a shame.
Every single board was somehow unique. I still love to explore Archive.org just to find more of those pages and websites and forums. Almost all the messages are saved there, and some of these forums are still online! TKA (down for now, but I hope it will be up soon), The Irregulars (or SVT), Sonic Blast... There are still people present and I love to check those boards every once in a while.
...we all know what is going on now... Archive.org is getting sued by some greedy scumbags that want nothing but money. Looks like we're going to lose all those boards, sites and all the lost games, projects and other cool things that are offline forever.
What really makes me go deeper into sadness again is the fact that all those forums and websites... They were loved by someone. Someone found a friend there and then lost them when the website went down.
Almost all the forum engines were bought by Tapatalk scumbags that are just turning them into another stupid variation of Facebook. No customization, lots of stupid rules, ads and other modern shit that can't be avoided on the modern web unless you're using a REALLY friendly forum like Sonic Blast. Many forums and boards were LOST because of Tapatalk. They deleted them and took away the way to export everything so everyone were left with nothing.
And now here it comes again. Twitter was killed by Elon CUMsk himself and Discord is making some stupid decisions that will make it worse! What should we use now? Back to IRC? Or Matrix that is kind of hard to register in? Why can't things just be good? Why had I stop using YouTube almost completely? Why picture sharing websites are fucking our legacy up? Why AI is taking over? Why DeviantArt became so slow, unoptimized and broken? WHY THE ENTIRE FUCKING WEB IS SO SLOW AND COMPLETELY UNOPTIMIZED?!
Sometimes I dream about someone who will sue the entire internet for this bad optimization. Hardware becomes better. Software becomes shit. And I hate it. We have to unleash the potential of our old smartphones, not to kill them with stupid updates that are eating all the RAM! Stupid services, stupid apps, stupid internet...
We're getting close to the moment when all the hardware limits will be reached and we will be fucked up. When x86 will be too slow to run a fucking text-only page. Like... What is so hard in downloading a picture from the server? Why DeviantArt does it SO slowly? Why had Wix buy it and ruin everything? Stupid Eclipse and stupid DreamUp...
I just want web to be cool again... I want software to be cool again! I use Linux for a reason, okay? Because Windows WAS good, but it isn't anymore! It's BULLSHIT now!

Well... I want to say thanks to people who are still hosting forums. Miles, Solar, Neo... I love ya guys... You're my little light of hope...
And Neocities... It's amazing... I'm happy it exists.

Maybe at some point I'll actually create a website for artists... At least I really want to do this. Those guys deserve more than DeviantArt shitcode. Much more and much better.
